The “Segovia Bike Grandes Rutas GR3”

The “Segovia Bike Grandes Rutas GR3” is an extense cycling route designed to tour the province of Segovia by bicycle. This route crosses landscapes, historic villages and rural areas, offering a unique immersion in the rich landscape and culture of the region.

 

Divided into several legs, the route is suitable for both experienced cyclists and beginners, with well-marked paths of different levels of challenge. The itinerary includes emblematic areas, such as the Sierra de Guadarrama, valleys and fields, and is characterized by its rich geography, with a mixture of mountains, forests and Castilian plains.

 

The route is divided into the following recommended legs:

 

Leg 1: Segovia – Sepúlveda.

 

Approximate distance: 70 km.

 

It starts in the city of Segovia, passing through historical sites and approaching Sepúlveda, where the Natural Park of the Duratón River gorges and its majestic canyons are located.

 

Leg 2: Sepúlveda – Pedraza.

 

Approximate distance: 50 km.

 

This stage travels along rural roads and crosses colorful landscapes of fields and small hills. The stop in Pedraza allows you to enjoy one of the best preserved medieval villages in Spain.

 

Leg 3: Pedraza – Riaza.

 

Approximate distance: 40 km.

 

It heads northeast, passing through the mountain areas of the Sierra de Ayllón. The arrival is in Riaza and offers a stop in its beautiful square and the enjoyment of a natural mountain environment.

 

Leg 4: Riaza – Cuéllar.

 

Approximate distance: 80 km.

 

This section takes cyclists from the mountains to the plains and farmland, until reaching Cuéllar, famous for its castle and Mudejar architecture.

 

Leg 5: Cuéllar – El Espinar.

 

Approximate distance: 90 km.

 

The stage crosses a transitional landscape between the plains and the mountains, approaching again the Sierra de Guadarrama. El Espinar, with its forests and hiking trails, offers spectacular views and nature.

 

Leg 6: El Espinar – Segovia.

 

Approximate distance: 45 km.

 

This last stage connects again with Segovia, traveling through paths surrounded by pine forests and mountain views, until returning to the city, closing the circuit of the GR3.
